Mechanical joining in versatile process chains

چکیده

Abstract The use of mechanical joining technologies offers the possibility mixed material structures, which are used in particular lightweight construction. An integrated securing joinability versatile process chains is currently hardly possible as number combinable tool variants well variable force- and path-based parameters infinite. A chain, i.e. a sequence all processes steps required for product manufacturing, enables targeted changes to semi-finished product, joint, component or that exceed originally planned extend while still ensuring joinability. In detail, it leads unique joint with its own property profile, which, against background resulting infinite combinations, makes impossible secure on conventional experimentally based approach without extensive safety factors. Transregional Colaborative Research Center 285 (TCRC285), also initiated this special issue, intended enable technology be sense high application flexibility. This achieved numerical representation complete chain from incoming semi finished via part production profile operating phase. Thus predictability can improvements individual life cycles realized by grasping cause-and-effect relationships. On basis knowledge, new possibilities intervention created adaptation processes. With aid methods developed purpose, tools will later available end user substitute large task-specific configurations smaller adaptable expands flexibility choices, enabling challenges environmental issues sustainability overcome.

Process Flexibility in Supply Chains

Process flexibility, whereby a production facility can produce multiple products, is a critical design consideration in multiproduct supply chains facing uncertain demand. The challenge is to determine a cost-effective flexibility configuration that is able to meet the demand with high likelihood. In this paper, we present a framework for analyzing the benefits from flexibility in multistage su...

Versatile Roles of K63-Linked Ubiquitin Chains in Trafficking

Modification by Lys63-linked ubiquitin (UbK63) chains is the second most abundant form of ubiquitylation. In addition to their role in DNA repair or kinase activation, UbK63 chains interfere with multiple steps of intracellular trafficking. UbK63 chains decorate many plasma membrane proteins, providing a signal that is often, but not always, required for their internalization. In yeast, plants,...

Process Modeling Using Event-Driven Process Chains

Event-Driven Process Chains (EPC) is a business process modeling language developed in a joint effort between SAP and the Institute of Information Systems of Saarbrücken in the context of the Architecture of Integrated Information Systems (ARIS) framework (Keller, Scheer, & Nüttgens, 1992). One of the initial purposes of EPC was to configure workflows in ERP software such as SAP R/3. As the lan...
